The Challenges of Long Narrow rooms in your home

When you decorate rooms in your home, frequently you will find that you have a much smaller sized room to work with than you would like.
Depending on the style of home you may end up with unusually shaped rooms, small spaces as well as space that you don’t know what
to do with. Here a few ideas to keep in mind when you are decorating those challenging spaces.

Tip No 1: If your home has a living room is long and narrow, try to reshape the room by dividing the space into several smaller living spaces.Make two separate conversational areas, this way it defines two spaces within a room. One area of the room could be more intimate and formal,
while the other could be more comfortable and used for more everyday living.

Tip No 2: Use mirrors to change the visual shape of your room. Using mirrors reflects the room back into itself and making it appear larger.

Tip No 3: Staring with neutral colours helps create a canvas easier to work with and opens up to a variety of accent colours that you can introduce in your space.
Having accent the accent colours together in one space helps to break up the long and narrow feel that your room may have.

Tip No 4: Separate your spaces by using different style & colours of wall décor to define the space.

Tip No 5: Use the whole room, and do not feel like you need to position the furniture long the walls of the room. Play around with the position of the furniture, bring
your seating area into the center of the room, by doing this it will make the room look wider than it is and this way you can also change the orientation of the furniture.
